Sandsation

Every June Berlin’s main train station Berliner Hauptbahnhof turns into a huge sandpit where the most renowned sand artists come from all over the world to create beautiful sand sculptures. Sandsation attracts over 100,000 visitors each year and is Europe’s premier sand art festival.

The Vattenfall City Night Race

The Vattenfall City Night Race is a 10km race down the boulevard Kurfürstendamm, in Berlin every July. Attracting more than 9,000 runners and in-line skaters and over 50,000 spectators the atmosphere is as exciting as the Berlin Marathon.

Berlin Beer Festival

Attracting over one million visitors each year and hosting the worlds longest beer garden is the Berlin Beer Festival. With over 180 international breweries attending and the opportunity to sample over 1200 types of beer, this is a great event for beer enthusiasts.

Berlin Green Week

In its 75th year, the Berlin Green Week is still one of a kind in the world. The internationally renowned fair is host to exhibits from the food, agricultural and horticultural industries and visitors are encouraged to try the fresh produce on offer.

Long Night at the Museums

The bi-annual event Long Night at the Museums sees several cultural institutions opening late into the night and hosting special events. One ticket gets visitors access to all the venues where there is a wealth of entertainment on offer.

MaerzMusik festival

The MaerzMusik festival celebrates contemporary classical music and is organised around a different theme each year. With performances of opera and chamber music to string quartets and full orchestras there is something to suit every musical taste.

The Achtung Berlin

The Achtung Berlin – new Berlin film award festival is held every year and celebrates film making in the city. The highlight of the week long festival is the Made in Berlin- Brandenburg competition where 50 locally made or produced films compete for the top accolade of the new berlin film award.

The Theatertreffen

Presenting the ten “most remarkable” German language plays of the year is the Theatertreffen; a week long festival of German Theatre. Not only can the best plays be seen but a number of other events such as debates, prize ceremonies and audience discussions are also held.
