Airport Transfers

Airport Transfers

Logan Airport is a convenient 2 miles outside the city centre, with several convenient public transportation options to the airport from downtown & suburban locations. Travellers can ride the MBTA Blue Line to Airport Station and connect to all terminals via free Logan shuttle buses. Taxis are readily available within the city & at the airport. Boston is known for its easily accessible subway system as well as countless taxi cabs. On the blue the city centre is only a few stops from the airport with trains running every 3 to 10 minutes depending on the time of day. The Silver line Route SL1 connects terminals A and E to South Station, close to the city centre with journeys taking approximately 20 minutes. There are a number of taxi companies operating from Logan International Airport's terminals. Boston's airport is one of only a few in the world that can also be accessed by boat; a single trip adult ticket is around $10. The journey is between the airport and Long wharf which is close to the city centre

Amtrak

A national railroad passenger corporation services Boston, New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore & nationwide from Boston's South Station or Back Bay Station. The rail service in 46 states across a 22,000 mile route system.

Bus

The MBTA run buses throughout the city and suburbs, stops are denoted with a black letter 'T' on a white circle. Payment is by cash or tokens purchased at booths at stations.

Subway

The subway system provides easy access to the city and outlying areas and consists of 4 lines blue, green, orange and red. With both under and over ground lines the trains run at around 5 to 10 minutes during the day and 3 to 4 minutes during the rush hours, from 05:00 to 00:45. A one-day pass is about $7.50.

Taxis are available throughout the city. It is advisable to check meter rates before travelling as fares differ in some areas of Boston.

Water Taxi

Much of the cities shoreline can be accessed by water taxi as can a number of tourist attractions such as the USS Constitution 'Old Ironsides'.
