Brussels Film Festival

One of the oldest and most respected film festivals in the country, the Brussels Film Festival showcases new films from up and coming talent.

Brussels Jazz Marathon

This two day spectacular festival has been a success for over 15 years, and features over 100 live music events which take place across the city. Most of the shows are completely free, although the finale concerts with big names stars may charge a small fee which is payable on the door.

Brussels Rollers

This organised event happens every Friday throughout summer, whereby rollerbladers of all skill levels and ages take to the streets for a fun roller parade. Simply meet outside the centrally located Palace De Justice at 7pm to take part in the parade.

Ommegang

The popular Ommegang sees the Place Du Grand Sablon transformed into a medieval village, complete with over 1400 costumed performers and medieval contraptions. Entry is free for all the family.

Flower Carpet

An extremely popular event with tourists, where the outside of the Grand Palace is filled with over a million petals from begonia flowers to create a stunningly beautiful carpet effect.

Heritage Days

Held over a long weekend in mid-September, the special annual heritage days allow visitors special access into buildings that are normally closed off to members of the public - such as the spectacular Cour Des Comptes.

Brussels Marathon

The Brussels marathon sees hundreds of runners compete on a massive 42km course, while spectators line the streets to cheer them on.

Truc Truc

This artistic event is held over several days and exhibits work from up and coming and established artists. What makes it so unique is the fact that no money is exchanged, instead visitors can leave a note next to the artwork they like with details of an object they would like to swap for the piece.

Christmas Market

The annual Christmas market happens over the entire month of December and attracts over 2 million visitors. It is a great place to pick up some Christmas gifts, with hundreds of stalls selling unique and handmade items.
