Tivoli Gardens
This traditional theme park provides a number of thrill rides and roller-coasters along with less heart-pounding amusements and games. The park is set in stunning scenery, and it is the perfect place to have an afternoon picnic. Tivoli is also open at night, and in December it is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a traditional Christmas market.

For a unique, fun and environmentally friendly way to take in the sights of the city, try a Segway tour, where participants use an electric 2 wheeled Segway to travel around. Don’t panic as it’s easy to use, and your guide will give you a full 15 minute training session before hand, so you will feel confident and safe using the machines. The tours take place 2 times a day, 7 days a week and stop at areas such as the Langelinie, the City Lakes and the Royal Palace. Reservations are essential as it is extremely popular, and it can get booked up in the summer months.

Rosenborg Castle is Copenhagen's equivalent to the tower of London, being home to the countries exquisite crown jewels. Despite being relatively small in size, it is beautifully decorated and well worth a visit. It is also surrounded by the stunning King’s Garden, which is a luscious green park that is a favourite with locals.

A visit to the National Museum is a great way to learn about Danish culture. The museum has a number of exhibitions, some of which are interactive. There are also several historical works of art, which depict what life was like in the Middle Ages.

If you purchase a postcard on your trip to Copenhagen, chances are it has a picture of Nyhavn’s colourful waterfront on it. This area is a beautiful place to visit all year round, where pretty 17th and 18th century townhouses line the harbour-front. It is also packed with traditional restaurants and cafes serving up authentic Danish cuisine.

This enormous Zoo is located in the municipality of of Frederiksberg. It is home to a number of exotic animals, all of which are kept in large spaces which try to mimic their natural environments. Tickets can be purchased at the zoo, or in several locations around the city. Prices start at DKK 110 for adults and DKK 50 for children.
