Rose and Light Festival
This three day annual festival sees the Palmengarten Park transformed into a stunning wonderland, filled with candles and decorations. The last night is marked with a spectacular finale firework display. Tickets cost between €7 - €10 and concessions are available.
Iron Man Festival
The large and impressive Iron Man event features hundreds of brave men who swim, cycle and race it out for the coveted Iron Man trophy. Spectators line the streets to cheer on the participants, throughout the 43km running course around the city centre.
Summer In The City
Throughout the month of August the Mousonterm Cultural Centre hosts a number of events, such a live music concerts, which take place in the Palmengarten Park. Many activities are free of charge for all the family, while some may require a small fee - check the website for event times and details.
Rheingauer Wine Market
Sample over 40 authentic, regionally grown wines at the Rheingauer wine market, where locals come to exhibit their latest produce. The market is located in the Fressgass area, and it takes place from the last week of August until the first week of September.
Helsinki Book Fair
By far the largest book fair in Germany, and quite possibly in Europe, this annual book fair features hundreds of vendors selling classic and modern books. The event takes place in mid-October in the Frankfurt Messe.
