Las Vegas - Places to Visit

Bellagio Fountains

The Fountains of Bellagio are a beautifully choreographed water feature set to water and lights. The show is best viewed from outside the Paris Las Vegas hotel across the road although they can be seen from some distance along the Strip. Taking place every 30 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes between 8pm and midnight the magnificent show is an icon of Las Vegas. Set in a 9 acre man made lake, the fountains are choreographed to songs from Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Andrea Bocelli to name a few.

The Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is the most famous street in the city. All of the major hotels and casinos are located along the Strip as well as the best shopping and dining in town. With as much to see along the 4 mile stretch of road as there is inside the grand hotels, every visitor to the city should take time to experience the buzzing atmosphere along the All-American Road.

Grand Canyon

If you need to get away from the hectic city the Grand Canyon, and its breathtaking scenery makes for a good trip. Located approximately 250 miles outside of Las Vegas several companies offer a variety of ways to get there. The cheapest way is by coach but for a more stylish (and far pricier ride) travel by helicopter. The South Rim is the most famous and picturesque area of the Grand Canyon and there are several historical buildings to explore in Grand Canyon Village, where you can also learn about the history of the natural wonder.

Universal City Walk Hollywood

Another great trip out of Vegas is to Universal City Walk in Hollywood. Universal City Walk is the entertainment and retail district of the Universal Studios theme park and will take about four hours to reach by car. A great shopping opportunity, there are more than 30 unique shops in which to buy that special gift. With many restaurants and eateries as well as cinemas, bars and clubs there is something here for all the family. A number of hotels cater for overnight guests.

Shark Reef

Enjoy looking at the predators of the sea from a safe distance at Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Walk through a glass tunnel where visitors can view sharks, giant rays, piranhas, moon jelly fish and rare and endangered golden crocodiles and green sea turtles. One of a kind in America the predator-based aquarium is home to over 2000 animals in 1.6 million gallons of seawater.
