Airport Transfers

JFK Airport is located in the south eastern section of Queens County, on Jamaica Bay fifteen miles by highway from midtown Manhattan. The airport is on Van Wyck Expressway (678), which can be accessed from Belt Parkway (27), Grand Central Parkway and Queens Boulevard. From Manhattan, take the Van Wyck Expressway, airport exit, Belt Parkway East to exit 19/Van Wyck Expressway (678), if coming from the Eastern Long Island, take the Belt Parkway West, exit 20/JFK Expressway, if its New Jersey your coming from take NJ Turnpike to exit 14C (Holland Tunnel), south on West Street, Belt Parkway. From upstate New York, take 87, south to 278, then 278, east to 495, then 495 east to Van Wyck Expressway (678) and from Connecticut, take 95, south to 678, 678 south which becomes Van Wyck Expressway. Note: New York City subways and buses are not equipped for large pieces of luggage. Please plan for this contingency if you plan to use public transportation upon your arrival at JFK. When leaving the airport, to connect to MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) trains, MTA New York City Transit subways, and local buses take AirTrain JFK to Jamaica or Howard Beach station. The AirTrain connects to the following trains and subways: LIRR at Jamaica Station, E, J/Z subways at Jamaica Station and A subway at Howard Beach Station.
