Lunar New Year Flower Market
This beautiful annual celebration sees New York’s Chinatown district transformed into a bustling area full of lights, flowers and decorations. The heart of the event is located on Mulberry Street.

St.Patrick’s Day
A favourite among locals and tourists alike is the extravagant St.Patrick’s day celebrations. The event kicks off with a parade at 11am, followed by drinking and dancing into the early hours of the morning.
The Big Swim
A great day out for kids is the Big Swim, where over 1000 children compete in the Olympic size pool in Asphalt Green. At the end of the race the children get the chance to meet, and have pictures taken with famous Olympic athletes.
Ninth Avenue International Food Fair
Come and sample some tasty treats at the International Food Fair. The event takes place over 2 days, and it is located from 37th to 5th street.
Puerto Rican Day Parade
Puerto Rican’s are New York’s largest ethnic group, and they sure know how to party. On the second Sunday in June over 3 million people take to the streets for a fun filled day of music, dancing and parades.
Brooklyn Independence Day Parade
New York’s oldest and most loved Independence Day parade starts at Bay Ridge on Third Avenue, and travels to John Paul Jones Park.
U.S Open Tennis
The U.S Tennis Open sees some of the world’s best tennis players battle it out in doubles, mixed doubles and single games. Tickets can sell out quickly, so purchase in advance to avoid disappointment.
National Football League
A must for any sports fan is a trip to the incredibly popular National Football League, held at the enormous Super Bowl Stadium.
Haunted Halloween Carnival
Enjoy Halloween with the family at The Puppetry Arts Theatre (TPAT), where a spooky haunted house is filled with scary characters. Entry is free of charge for all.
Lighting At the Rockefeller Centre
Get into the festive spirit by watching the Christmas lights being turned on at the Rockefeller Centre. The day also features special celebrity guests, and an ice skating show.
Times Square NYE
Perhaps one of the most popular places in the world to celebrate the coming of the New Year, is in New York's Times Square. At the stroke of midnight a huge balls drops from the sky, confetti falls and the entire square is lit up with colourful fireworks. It does get extremely busy, so arrive early to secure yourself a good spot.
