Northwest Flower and Garden Show

This four day events sees 30 of the countries most talented gardeners design and build their own beautiful life-size garden patches. The show also includes a sculpture park, a florist competition and a spectacular orchid display.

Patrick’s Day Parade

Join in with the elaborate St.Patrick’s Day celebrations, with a parade that starts at 12:30pm at 4th on Jefferson Avenue. The parade weaves its way around the downtown areas, and comes to and end in Westlake Park, where a final closing ceremony is held.

Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival

Celebrate the all things Japanese at this two day festival that features traditional dancing, performances and authentic Japanese cuisine. Events are held at the Centre House and Flag Pavilion, and they are completely free of charge for all.

Seattle Boat Show

The Seattle boat show runs from the end of January until the first week of February, and features an impressive display of over 1000 boats. The day also includes free seminars and workshops from top boating experts, and a new high-tech section showcasing modern advancements in the marine field.

Seattle International Film Festival

The ever popular Seattle International Film Festival showcases more than 300 films from international and local talent. Events take place in theatres all over the city, and screenings are open to members of the public. Booking in advance is recommended, as the event can sell-out quickly.

Seafair Festival

The Seafair Festival lasts for about a month and features an eclectic mix of sporting events, art and craft fairs, musical and theatrical performances and international food stalls.

July 4th Celebrations

There is always plenty to see and do on July the 4th, but one of the cities most favourite places to take part in the celebrations is at the Chase Family Fourth Fireworks, set around the beautiful Lake Union. The event starts at noon with food, drink and music, and an impressive fireworks display marks the end of the party at 10pm.

Seattle Music Festival

The increasingly popular Seattle Music Festival is held on the pretty Alki Beach over a weekend in mid-August. The festival includes music from the countries most promising alternative rock bands, and proceeds are used to benefit the Northwest Programme for the Arts.

Bumbershot Festival

This enormous annual three day party, held on the first weekend of September, attracts thousands of people who come to listen to live music from some of America’s hottest performers.

Earshot Jazz Festival

A two week long celebration of all things Jazz, featuring live music from talented Jazz artists in 7 venues across the city.

Tree Lighting

A day of fun can be had at the Westlake Centre on the day of the tree-lighting, when a parade kicks off at 8.30am that marches around University Street and stops at Macy’s for the official lighting ceremony, which is followed by a colourful firework display.

New Year Celebrations

Seattle hosts a number of New Years events, but none are quite as extravagant as the Seattle Space Needle celebrations, which includes the tallest structure launched fireworks display in the world.
